Anti reCAPTCHA for JDownloader

UPDATE: I've noticed that this article gets quite a lot of hits, but for now it seems that this Anti reCAPTCHA isn't working for the current version, 0.2f, ever since reCAPTCHA updated. Still, just check if the author has an update that works, or a workaround, and let me know in the comments. Lord Inglip sure is powerful enough against this system.

UPDATE 2: There is an alternative method called CaptchaTrader (thanks for the comment James). Head to my new post for more information.

UPDATE 3: Apparently the original author didn't seem to be updating this anymore. However this project has been taken over by SONY-TEAM, and does seem to work. Here is the real link: http://antirecaptcha.com/. Other links such as "http://www.anti-recaptcha.com/" is most likely fake and tries to rip off unsuspecting users.

If you're a download maniac, you should have at least heard about JDownloader. If not, then you're not downloading enough. It automates your downloads from various file sharing services, so you don't have to babysit your downloads, such as waiting times, typing in CAPTCHAs, etc. As the name hints, you'll need Java (JRE or JDK) to run it.

Download JDownloader

The annoying thing about downloading a lot of stuff from these file sharing services is that they imply A LOT OF LIMITATIONS unless you buy a premium account. That includes typing in reCAPTCHAs, an anti-bot system. While JDownloader automates most of the stuff, it can't really decipher these reCAPTCHAs. You still have to do this manually.

But hey, some German programmer built an anti reCAPTCHA system, just for JDownloader. And while it doesn't work all the time, it will retry until it gets it right. So you can really leave JDownloader to do it's dirt.

Download anti reCAPTCHA

This thing runs on PHP, so you'll need Visual C++ Redistributable 2008 (vcredist2008) installed.

But still, I got CLI (which is php.exe) error. After realizing that php.exe caused the error, I tried replacing it (as well as other related PHP files) with a newer version from 5.3.1 to 5.3.3 (VC9 Thread Safe). And it works! Now I can walk away with my downloads running happily.

Note that I didn't really install PHP, I simply copied the file with same names in the antirecaptcha folder from the downloaded zip file.

Download PHP 5.3.3

Well I've already informed to the author about this, and he said he'll update it by the end of the week. So you don't have to go through all the trouble I had just now.

Should work best with FileServe, but I heard there were problems with other file sharing sites that use reCAPTCHA. I only tried it with FileServe though.

  1. Use captcha trader to do captchas while you're at the pc and have someone else do them while you're not!

  2. one thing i dont understand is, there are some anti-recaptcha scripts which get about 10% of the captcha's right, so why dont they simply use the "refresh" captcha feature where you can get a new image over and over (without penalty) until it finds one which its 100% sure it has identified all of the letters? Surely the program can take a look at the two words and if it doesnt recognize 90% of the letters or more, then refresh, and repeat every few seconds until it finds one which it can identify clearly...

    im surprised recaptcha hasnt been beaten alone because of the ability to refresh captchas for humans looking at the images until you find one which is easier to read... come on start using this method and all you have to do is make a tool which can read about 10% of the captchas accurately, which isnt that hard to do... i read its been done by some guy already, find his script/code and implement it!

  3. @James:
    Please enlighten me on how to use captcha trader with jDownloader :)

    @Anon:
    According to jDownloader forums, the rate of failure will cause some plugins cease to work and the hosts will ban your IP. Or something like that.

  5. The above didnt work for me.

    At last a new working recaptcha-plugin for jdownloader!

    http://captchatrader.com/users/refer/adghdafj

    You buy credits or solve recaptchas on their site and get credits for that. the jdownloader plugin is available for win, linux, mac. go through the readme step by step, you dont see the addon in the addons-list, even when its working fine. you can activate/deactivate it with the regular "disable automatic captcha" in jdownloader settings.

    hope that helps! i have already 631 credits, now jdownloader is fun again! :-)

  6. I've heard news of someone else taking over the project from the German team, by a group called Sony-Team, presumably Spanish.

    Personally I haven't tried both anti-recaptcha.com or Sony-Team's anti recaptcha (might just be the same thing, who knows), so it's up to you guys to try it out.

    As for captchatrader, you can use it for free if you contribute the captchas to earn free credits. Read my other article for more details.

    @Admin
    Please don't use the name Admin in other people's blog. It's confusing to the readers.

  7. I saw there was a negative comment here about the captchatrader website. I can confirm that the plugin works perfectly with jDownloader, and if one wants to use it for free, just solve a few captchas. I found it quite entertaining to solve for other people, knowing that I contribute to people saving money, and preventing the greedy filehosters from making more. And of course collect fee captchas to be solved when I want to start jDownloader with a list of files and just go sleep :)

  8. Strangely all this Admin-Anonymous comments were only one minute apart... As if it was the same person.

    @Bhanche:
    Yes, thanks for clarifying that :)

  9. Oh, and because of this one-minute-apart thing, be careful if any of you want to try anti-recaptcha.com. It might be a fraud.

  10. CONFIRMED: anti-recaptcha.com IS A FRAUD. This thread confirms it all. http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?p=143770#post143770

    Ah, shame on the imposters. I'll be deleting related comments soon so nobody gets fooled again.

    The real one from SONY-TEAM is antirecaptcha.com

  15. anti-recaptcha.com IS A FRAUD!
    The real site of this developers is:
    antirecaptcha.com.
    The support for their Anti-Re-Captcha can be found in their forum: http://www.sonyteam.net/foro
    I have to say, that the new plugin ARC v.2.07 works, but not 100%. fileserve won't work..also hotfile, for example. But other hosters, which don't have the real Google-Recaptcha on their sites, are absolutely no problem for the v.2.07..(filesonic..netload..and so on)
    I had some special problems to install the plugin on Win 7 Prof. x64. I had to make Java Updates..Updates of the runtimes etc.
    But I think, there should be a easier possibility, to train the OCR-Plugin.
    The plugin from Anti re Captcha ST has the 'Tesseract OCR' integrated, and if you look into their wiki how to train it, you wish that you would had never looked into the tutorial;)
    It's to difficult.
    As I installed the OCR seperately, too..I downloaded also all the language-packs and copied them into C:\Program Files (x86)\Tesseract-OCR\tessdata -folder. Hope, that it helps, to "unlock" more captchas.
    Any other ideas?

    And..as to the posts above: THOSE ADMIN-POSTS from Captchatrade CAN YOU READ ALL OVER THE INTERNET. I involved many hours just to install / find a plugin which works just a bit. On my way I had been in many forums, you know. Almost in every forum you can read about them, and you can see these "special posts"..If you calculate the offer from "captchatrader", then you will realize, that you would involve more time as that you would get captchas. So for example you have to type in 2 Captchas, and you will get only one captcha back!! Or you gonna buy credits, lol..

  16. I can totally recommend captchatrader.com
    Have been using it for months. Though I discovered that solving captchas myself for credit was fun in the beginning, buying credits was much more convenient, $7 for 2000 solved captchas.
